Hiring Rates - 2009

Hiring Rules
The following is a brief outline of some of the rules to ensure the safety of patrons, hirers, users and performers. These must be adhered to at all times. The Hiring Agreement specifies the details of all the rules.
The Hirer is responsible for the following:
- Hirer and staff and volunteers must always act in a safe manner and must report any unsafe conditions or activities to the Theatre Manager.
- Hirer must ensure that no unauthorised persons are allowed back stage.
- Hirer must ensure that an adequately trained or qualified technician is used to work on the audio or lighting equipment.
- Hirer must ensure that any changes made to audio and lighting are changed back to the original specifications immediately after the last performance.
- Hirer should be aware of Fire Safety Awareness and Fire Regulations posted in the Theatre.
- The Orchestra Pit can only be opened and closed under the supervision of Theatre personnel.
- The Hirer must clean the Theatre, foyer and all rooms at the end of each hire period. All rubbish must be placed in the Dump master bins provided.
- The consumption of food and drink (except for bottled water) is NOT allowed in the auditorium.
- Between the contracted opening and closing times of hire, the Theatre must not be left empty and unlocked and un-alarmed.
- Smoking is not permitted in any part of the Theatre or on the College grounds surrounding the Theatre.
- The Hirer will have Public Liability Insurance cover for their events.
How to Hire the Theatre
- Apply to the Booking Manager by email or by phone for the dates and times required.
- The dates and times at this stage will be temporarily reserved for the Hirer.
- Booking Manger will send out Hiring Rules and an Agreement.
- Signed Agreement and Public Liability Insurance evidence is returned to Booking Manager.
- Booking Manager will confirm the booking in writing.
It is important that the Hirer and his technicians are at the Theatre at the opening time in the agreement (or a change subsequently agreed to).
Hire rates apply for a time block of up to five hours for morning, afternoon or evening. No reductions apply for less than 5 hours.
Hire rates charged depend upon the type of organisation (non-profit, educational or commercial) and whether for rehearsal or show. Rates available from Booking Manager.
Hirers are expected to clean up after their event for the next hirer.

Optional ticketing arrangements
As a Community based and run Theatre we do not have the facilities or resources to offer a Ticketing or Booking Service for our Hirers.
Dandenong's Drum Theatre has kindly offered to provide partial to full ticketing services directly to our Hirers. The Drum has acquired a widely used sophisticated Ticketing Program which enables it to make this offer.
The services the Drum Theatre Box Office offers are:
Ticket printing
The design (including your logo) and printing of tickets - whether for general admission or allocated seating - with a 48 hour turn around. Tickets to include Cranbourne Community Theatre address.
Full or Partial Booking Service
- Phone access directly to Drum Box Office Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.
- Patrons can pay by cash, cheque or credit card.
- Professional Drum staff will attend the Theatre on the evening of each show for ticket pickups and final box office sales.
- They promise prompt payment and reconciliation of ticket receipts.
- Their phone system will be configured to answer as the Cranbourne Community Theatre.
