Clarendon Street Community Child Care Centre, established in 1984, provides quality, affordable and flexible child care.
Clarendon Street Child Care Co-operative is the only community, not for profit, child care centre in Cranbourne caring for 36 children aged from infancy to 6 years in an home away from home atmosphere.
Our slogan - "meeting your needs with quality, affordable, flexible care for your child" reflects our aim to support the community of Cranbourne by providing child care that is attainable to as many people as is possible.
We provide high quality care for children attending the centre in which the individual child may grow at their own rate and develop to their fullest potential in an environment that is warm, friendly, safe and enjoyable for all those involved in the service".
The centre, which holds a Level 3 National Accreditation for excellence in childcare provision, operates as a co-operative to allow maximum parental involvement in its management and operation. Through consultation we are continually changing our policies and practices to benefit our families.
Our small family of children are cared for by our longstanding staff, who were chosen to reflect the extended family, providing a balance between mature age and young adults.
All staff, including our cook, hold qualifications specific to child care, and they regularly attend courses to keep up to date with issues relevant to the needs of our children.
Staff are allocated specific time, weekly, to develop programs to suit each individual child, which encourages them to learn life skills and develop physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. Staff work in a close partnership with parents in the planning process.
