My name is Lyn, I have a 12 year old Son who has suffered uncontrolled complex partial seizures since he was 3½. Despite trying just about every medication available, having had major brain surgery and also now a Vagal Nerve Stimulator implanted, so far his seizures remain uncontrolled. I live in the Casey area and to my knowledge there is not a support group out this way for this difficult disorder. There are many challenges to face and I would love to meet and talk to people who are also living with and or caring for someone with Epilepsy.

I feel a problem shared is sometimes a problem halved. Family and friends can be very understanding but unless they are living it day to day, try as they might, they just don't quite understand the feelings and challenges we face.

Please contact me if you feel you would like to join in this group, even if it is just for a chat over the phone to someone who understands, my goal is to get together for a casual cuppa perhaps once a month to get to know each other and be there to lend support and advice.
