Cranbourne West Primary School - Healthy4Life

Given the increasing financial burdens on families over recent years, Cranbourne West Primary has developed a comprehensive range of programs to ensure that all of our students have access to healthy food and can participate in a full range of physical, social and academic programs.
While many schools have introduced breakfast programs and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development has introduced Free Fruit Friday into schools, Cranbourne West Primary School has taken the principles behind these programs to the next level by developing programs to meet a wide range of students needs.
Programs offered within the school include daily breakfast, brunch and lunch programs to ensure that children's concentration and learning is not impeded by hunger. Social and recreational programs that are run at lunchtimes and after school, including sports, music, art and craft, games, chess and computer clubs. Academic support and mentoring assist students to develop their confidence and skills in literacy.
All of these programs are free. This is possible due to the fantastic support offered by staff, parents, students and community members who volunteer their time and skills. The programs are also supported by a wide range of services and businesses who understand the economic and social value of ensuring that every child is supported to reach his or her full potential.
