Australia wide at any given time a natural disaster can occur, such as the devastation of a bushfire, a cyclone or a flood. The heartache and the misery in a community affected by these calamities are soon relieved by the emergency services and the comfort in aid provided by Lions.
The Australian Lions Foundation was formed in 1980 with the purpose of assisting people in time of need, through the provision of financial assistance and support in cases of natural disaster and to assist in the funding of emergency welfare projects.
Even at club level, funds for food and clothing are provided very quickly so that immediate assistance can be given to needy people should a natural disaster occur.
