Assisting youth has always been a Lions priority. For young people whose circumstances do not offer opportunity or direction, Lions youth programs offer more than fond memories - they offer hope and inspiration for the future.
Each year 250,000 students, from Kindergarten to Senior Years, receive the benefit of healthy and responsible lifestyle education, and are given the skills necessary to acquire the self-esteem and drive needed t o live productive, happy and drug free lives. In addition, Lions Youth Outreach teaches children the joys of volunteering.
Identikid Cards
Identikid is an identification card system that is operated by many districts throughout Australia . A photo plus a fingerprint of a child is annually updated at Identikid stands in Shopping Centres for parents to keep and produce in the instance a child goes missing.
The same system is being used for elderly patients from nursing homes who have a tendency to wander off.
