YOUTH FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE

Lions Youth Exchange gives young people the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of other cultures, with the emphasis on family and community life.

Young Australians are given the  opportunity to experience other countries and reciprocate by hosting youth from overseas.   Annually 140 young people leave Australia for Japan , the US , Canada , New exchange students and snowmanZealand , Indonesia , Malaysia , the United Kingdom , Europe and Scandinavia .   Reciprocal arrangements with Lions Clubs in those countries bring into Australia some 300 young people hosted for a six-week cultural exchange.

Lions Youth of the Year Quest

For more than 30 years the Lions Youth of the Year Quest has encouraged student interest in leadership and the qualities required for active and constructive participation in the community.

It does this by selecting an outstanding young person from the Quest participants throughout Australia to travel overseas as an ambassador for Australia and Lions Clubs International.   State finalists receive a trip around Australia as a group hosted by Lions.

Over 3,500 students compete in the competition from 1,600 schools utilizing some 2,800 volunteer judges to an audience of nearly 45,000 people.
