Our History - Pearcedale Book Group

Hi! My name is Beth. I am the coordinator of the Pearcedale Book Group.
The history of this book group is very simple but let me share it with you.

I have always loved reading. Sometimes, after I had finished reading a particularly good book, I would think "I'd love someone else to read this book", or "I'd love to talk to someone about this book".

A friend of mine mentioned that they belonged to a book group out the other side of the city - and I thought " How great would it be to belong to a book group closer to home".

So, I sat back - and waited - and hoped that someone would start a book group here in Pearcedale.

Then one morning while I was brushing my teeth

(where I have some of my greatest inspirations),

I thought hang on!

“Why don’t I start my own book group –

here in Pearcedale!!!” (I think it was an epiphany)

So, I contacted Jenny Fergusan at the Cranbourne Library,

who was very helpful (and understanding) –

and the rest is history

Our group met for the first time in February 2006

and we’ve been going strong ever since…..
