Cleaning Hints & Tips

We all know that all the cleaning lotions and potions costs a small fortune from the supermarket.
Why not try these ideas, which are much more environmentally friendly, and won't break the bank!

Just remember, always keep out of reach of little hands!

Ceramic bath, basin and tiles
Wipe over with Bi-carb soda and/or vinegar on a damp cloth (vinegar adds shine).

Toilets
Use 1 cup of white vinegar in toilet bowl, leave overnight and scrub the next day. Wipe the outside of the toilet with white vinegar.

Spot cleaning
Place a few drops of eucalyptus oil or glycerine on the stain. Leave for 1-2 minutes, do not rub. Repeat and rinse if necessary.

Windows
Clean with a water-dampened ball of newspaper sprinkled with white vinegar or methylated spirits. Dry with newspaper.

The basket idea...
Have a basket in the corner of the main room, where the majority of the mess accumulates. That way, should you need to quickly sprice up the room, you can throw everything in the basket and put it away from your visitors eyes, and it's ready to be put away when they leave!

Encourage children, or the forgetful partner to put things in the basket instead of on the floor.. While you will still need to clean up after them, it will be MUCH easier if it's not sprayed all over the house!

IDEA..
always clean the busiest rooms in the house first. If visitors pop round, its so much simpler to close doors and hide the mess, then having to quickly run around and do a quick clean while your guests are waiting!
